It’s been a while since I’ve posted. Life sometimes gets in the way and distractions abound. As the chaos subsides and order begins to emerge, it’s great to get back into the kitchen.
Issue Number 2 Asparagus
So in this new year I’ve added a new issue for SteamedUp looking at one of my favourite foods, Asparagus. It is also perfect for use in a steam oven.
Before owning a steam oven I used to put a little wter in a small frypan and bring it to the boil. Then when the water was boiling, I would turn off the heat and put the asparagus into the water and leave for a couple of minutes. I tried to co-ordinate this process with serving up the other components of the meal. Often they were overcooked or cold or both. How much easier is it to now steam asparagus for the exact time and not have to have another pot to clean.
I don’t have a membership facility set up yet so my straw poll results were from family and friends as I asked “what is your favourite egg dish?”. Just so you know, my favourite was the last one.
